Athletic departments around the country have in recent days taken to their websites to boast about the academic success of their athletes. It’s all been in the wake of the annual release of the NCAA’s Academic Progress Rate statistics.
But there hasn’t been much bragging coming from the historically black colleges and universities that make up the Southwestern Athletic Conference or the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, many of which are being punished for falling below the required minimum standards.
