Week two is on for two days this week. Illinois State continues the FBS beatdowns, over Eastern Michigan, 31-14. Sacramento State knocks over FBS Colorado, 30-28 and the beat goes on with North Dakota State winning over FBS Colorado State, 22-7. Northern Arizona finished the vanquishing of FBS opponents by topping UNLV, 17-14.

Four days of games this week. The MSU Cowboys and EWU Eagles are the first 2012 FCS teams to beat an FBS foe: McNeese State 27 - Middle Tennessee 21 and Eastern Washington 20 - Idaho 3. Youngstown State continues the tally by destroying FBS Pittsburgh, 31 - 17 and Tennessee-Martin tops it off with a last minute win over Memphis, 20-17.

There are 122 FCS teams in 2012.No more Great West Football Conference.No Independents.111 teams are eligible for the postseason (take out the Ivy League and three APR barred).Subtract the two teams that play in the SWAC Championship plus the various Classic games and that leaves 108 -- give or take.20 teams get into the tournament.In 2011 only 61 teams finished the year with six or more wins.
Yes, schools that sponsor NCAA championship football also challenge for the NCAA basketball trophy. FBS schools don't (they do not win an NCAA football championship) but FCS schools do. Georgetown, Villanova, La Salle and Holy Cross have all won the basketball championship... but only Villanova has also won the football trophy.
Looking at the selections for this year's basketball tourney I see we have a number of FCS names.

Yo E$PN, it is the NCAA Division I Football Championship, not the FCS championship.
Sorry capitalists, this is a true tournament system like all other major NCAA sports. Only football is the largest student participatory sport on campus. It is the epitome of college sports. So please take your cue to get it right.
