  2. Game Time 2011!

    I have often said how little a fan I am of these non-FCS matchups we endure every year. Yes FBS teams pay well and we pay good enough to non-Division I teams, but there are things I don't understand.

    Probably the biggest aspect is how many FCS fans are deep-down FBS wannabes. They LOVE when their FCS team plays at an FBS school. I have a feeling they think to themselves (and some belligerently out loud) that this is "real" college football. Same type of mentality ...

  3. Name Respect

    As anyone who has read my work over the past decade knows, I have a pet peeve with the used naming of the FCS and it's related topics. Often, in my opinion, the mistakes are either purposefully done to demean the division or worse, a company directive. Although I will admit that the confusion was even present on NCAA official material and that fanned the flames of confusion.

  4. It's All Over

    Oh my, the "offseason" is over. Kids are back or coming back soon to Fall campus practise. Media Relations personnel are back or coming back soon to finish off their prep work for the start of the preseason. Conference media days, team media days, website changes, and new logos/uniforms/names/fields/rosters are all finishing up for the beginning.

    EXCITEMENT is building all across the land.

  5. Eagles For Erk, the Erk Russell Statue Project

    In the huddle the play was called 370 A Middle. On third down and 10 with 14 seconds left, the legend began. Tracy Ham dropped back and found Frankie Johnson in the back of the endzone to win the first of Erk Russell's three NCAA Division I National Championships at Georgia Southern University. The play would become known as "The Catch" in GSU lore.
