DeMarco is not John Elway, ODU punts, GSU takes over at the ODU 47, 8:29 3Q
GSU is looking good now, keying on the run
Fair catch at the ODU 12 Monarchs leading 27-17, 9:25 3Q
Cameron gets his second sack for ODU... punt time
Jacoby (C) goes down with a right leg injury for GSU
Schlecter passes for a 1st down and a 15yd facemask puts GSU at the ODU 46. 10:44 3Q
(thank goodness for TV timeouts)
GSU made some adjustments and looks tougher on the run, ODU punts and GSU gets it at their own 27, 11:28 3Q trailing the Monarchs 27-17
ODU starts at their own 25 leading 27-17, 12:55 3Q
That shoved GSU out of FG range and the Panthers will punt.
Cameron gets the first ODU sack
Schlecter in again at QB and flings it for 37 yds complete on the first play!
Here we go now with GSU receiving, trailing ODU 27-17
The stats are about even, both teams have 70-80 passing yards and a bit more rushing. One thing for sure, the 2nd half can't go any faster than the first can it? Whew. These are not no-huddle teams but they are not taking it slow.
While ODU looks like the better team again this year (they beat GSU 34-20 last year), they have had penalties to hamper them this game. The Panthers have a punter in at QB so you have to feel for them so their offense is not exactly clicking and ticking. They are not really bottling the ODU run game well either. But, each team has one legit TD drive so if GSU can keep ODU off their punter and get a few more breaks they have a shot.
So basically, the teams traded field goals, then ODU drives for a TD, then ODU is at the 2 to widen the lead but fumbles it and GSU runs it all the way back some 90+ yards and scores shortly thereafter, then ODU blocks a punt for a TD, then GSU drives for a TD, then ODU blocks another punt and scores thereafter.
You know, I like Coca Cola and Mountain Dew mixed together.
It is HALFTIME! Old Dominion winning 27-17 over Georgia State.
48 yard punt by Hubbard, ODU has 1:02 to work with before the half winning 27-17
Well, time to punt for GSU
