Big day as the playoffs start and the SWAC Championship matchup is decided in the Bayou Classic so I am following the scores. The winners of each of the four playoff games advance to the next round and if Grambling wins then they are in the SWAC Champ Game. Times are Eastern.

Six games are between top 25 teams this week, one top 25 team faces a non-Division I opponent, and one top 25 team is idle. Rankings based on the Gridiron Power Index (GPI).
10/31/2011 GPI Top 25
1. North Dakota State won 27-16 @ #11 Indiana State
2. Northern Iowa won 21-17 vs #23 Youngstown State
3T. Sam Houston State won 38-9 @ #88 Southeast Louisiana
3T. Georgia Southern won 14-12 vs. #35 The Citadel
5T. Appalachian State lost
A quick look at the GPI and the two major polls, the FCS Coaches Poll and The Sports Network Poll displays some notable differences.
In fact, the two polls contain the exact same teams save one different one in each.
20% of the same teams in both polls are not in the GPI top 25 (Alabama State, Delaware, Indiana State, Jackson State, Tennessee Tech and William & Mary) and the FCS Coaches Poll has an additional one (North Dakota) which is not in the GPI top 25. Illinois
