A six yard run and and long incomplete pass has the Tigers at 3rd & 4. An 18 yard pass to TE Michael Egnew gets the Tigers down to the WIU 27 but they false start on the next play.
We have 12:12 left in the opening half. Missouri gets three on a pass play on their first play. And Josey gets 15 on the next play.
The Leathernecks are finding some running room up the middle with another six yards by Flowers. QB Josh Hudson gets two and we have a 3rd and two. Flowers gets tackles in the backfield for a loss of 1. WIU is punting after reaching the Missouri side of the field for the first time. The punt is fair caught and is hit by a WIU defender so Missouri will get the ball out to their own 31.
A nice 7 yard run by Flowers gets wiped out by a false start call. Flowers, however, gets 9 on the next play to give WIU their first 1st down.
The Tigers are at the WIU 32 and will go for it on a 4th and 11 and force a fumble by Tiger qb James Franklin. WIU takes over at their own 32. We have 14:53 left in the 2nd qtr.
WIU gives up just a 2 yard pass to Josey. This is the end of the opening quarter with Missouri up 21-0.
