  1. Hitting the Wall at SNW

    Three years or so seems to be the limit for modern era "Executive Directors" at the Sports Network (SNW) in their FCS division and they've hit the wall again. Friday was the last day in that position for David Coulson who now joins Matt Dougherty and Tony Moss in that category. Coulson came to the SNW right before the Conference media days in July of 2007.

  2. UTSA Throws Curveball - Announces FBS Plan

    Just when you thought most of the discussion this off-season would strictly circulate around new coaches, recruiting and the Southland Conference efforts to land the Division I title game, UTSA completely veered the off-season chatter in a new direction.

  3. Dates to Watch for Title Game, Former SWT HC DeBesse Joins Sam Staff

    According to correspondence with the Southland Conference office, the Frisco and Chattanooga bid groups will make their final pitch on Feb. 25 in Indianapolis to the Division I Football Championship Committee.

    That committee will then turn around and make a recommendation to the Division I Championships Cabinet. A final decision is expected in early March.

  4. Red Turf at EWU

    I just saw this article about a team I cover in Eastern Washington. Former All-American and current NFL starter Michael Roos is donating $1/2 million for a new artificial turf in Cheney for the Eagles.

    This sounds great as I know this stadium can get its natural grass surface torn up in the late fall. The only thing I am questioning is the color of RED.

    Another West school in former Big Sky member Boise State has the blue turf and gets all sorts of attention ...
