In the always tough position of choosing FCS games of the week before the season begins I made a 2013 list. So many great games happening in the same week makes it even more difficult.
It is regrettable that some conferences were edged out by other games, notably the SWAC, Patriot League, Pioneer Football League and Northeast Conference. I also did not include any teams that are transitioning out of the FCS. These are games of teams competing for the NCAA Division I title. I noted
By this time tomorrow, it would appear, we will know the answer as to whether Appalachian State and Georgia Southern are leaving the Southern Conference, meaning those two FCS power football programs will be stepping up to FBS.

I went to the pep rally for NDSU fans and alumni at Dr. Pepper Park, the home of a AA baseball team here in Frisco.
They expected 8000 fans and nearly 10,000 fans showed for the festivities. After last night, I think the NDSU fan population at the game today will be nearly 75% of FC Dallas Stadium.
