  • 2013 Gridiron Power Index (GPI): #1 NDSU Leads The Way Into The Final Weekend

North Dakota State remains #1 in the Gridiron Power Index (GPI), the index ranking for the NCAA Division I FCS and a top indicator of at-large playoff selection. Two teams dropped out of the top 25. Fordham fell the most at 10 places from 8 to 18. Princeton climbed the most of any team in this week's top 25, moving up seven spots from 21 to 14.

    By College Sporting News

The Missouri Valley Football Conference has five teams in the top 25; the Colonial Athletic Association and Ohio Valley Conference have four each; the Big Sky and Southland Conferences have three each; the Ivy League has two; and the Big South Conference, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Patriot League plus the Independents have one each. (Games through 11/17/13)

The conference average rankings are holding steady at the top. The Missouri Valley Football Conference is even more solid in first, the Colonial Athletic Association and the Southland Conference stay at two and three, and the Ohio Valley and Big Sky Conferences round out the top five.

The Final 2013 GPI will be released once all the college football games have been played, in January 2014.
