The Southern Conference has six teams in the top 25; and Colonial Athletic Association has five; the Big Sky and Missouri Valley Football Conferences have three teams each; the Great West Conference and Ivy League have two each; and the Big South, Ohio Valley and Southland Conferences plus the Patriot League each have one. As conference average rankings the Southern Conference maintains their big lead at #1 while the Colonial Athletic Association, Great West and Missouri Valley Football Conferences stay bunched at #2-3-4 respectively. The Big Sky is in at a solid #5.
The greatest movement this week included Harvard moving up seven places and South Dakota plummeting 13. Five new schools entered the top 25 as Elon. Old Dominion, Eastern Washington, Coastal Carolina and Southern Utah made their departure. The Final 2011 GPI will be released once all the college football games have been played, in January 2012.
