I have often said how little a fan I am of these non-FCS matchups we endure every year. Yes FBS teams pay well and we pay good enough to non-Division I teams, but there are things I don't understand.

Probably the biggest aspect is how many FCS fans are deep-down FBS wannabes. They LOVE when their FCS team plays at an FBS school. I have a feeling they think to themselves (and some belligerently out loud) that this is "real" college football. Same type of mentality that thinks that the Division I football championship is something no one cares about and only "Bowel" games are meaningful (you know, those games, the truly meaningless ones that are an excuse for a vacation?).

The non-D-I games are just annoying because they are heartfelt but still not counters for aspiring playoff contenders.

So here's to hoping that the coaches of FCS get some useful info and the players stay healthy in all those games, I'll be paying attention to the ones between FCS teams.

Jacksonville State over UT Martin
Sam Houston State over Western Illinois
Eastern Illinois over Illinois State
Massachusetts over Holy Cross
North Dakota over Drake

The FCS is best!
