What's most interesting about this hire? That Mr. Austin was hired to be an Ivy League football coach without having a background in recruiting or playing in the Ivy League. A former Ole Miss star quarterback as well as their current offensive coordinator, after school he engaged in a successful career in the CFL first as a player and then as a coach. As a head coach of an Ivy League team, he will have to get familiar with his admissions department and brush up on the Ivy League Academic Index rules awfully fast.
On the plus side, since he did play north of the border, snow during games in mid-October should be no problem for him.
