Montana looks like they will receive the opening kickoff.

Montana returns it just to teh 19 by Jabin Sambrano.

The Griz have a 3rd & 3 after a couple of running plays. The pass by Jordan Johnson on the third down is high and is incomplete.

The punt sends SHSU back just to their own 43.

The Bearkats will also face a third down after two running plays.

It is 3rd & 1 and QB Brian Bell keeps it on an option and is right near the first down marker.

The referees will need to bring out the chains and Bell just gets the first down at the Montana 47.

Torrance Williams with a nice catch and run on the next play to get another first down to the Montana 20.

A run by Tim Flanders and then a catch by TE Keith Bratton has SHSU with a 3rd and 1.

Bell runs the option from the 11 and scores on this third down play. PAT is good.

SHSU 7 Montana 0 with 10:36 left in the 1st qtr.

Montana returns the SHSU kickoff back to their own 23 by Sambrano.

A no gain on a qb keeper by Johnson and then a short 5 yard pass to TE Greg Hardy has the Griz with a 3rd & 5.

Johnson gets the first on a qb keeper.

Sambrano on the end around gets another first down on the next play.

Montana faces another 3rd down and 5 at the SHSU 48. Sambrano with a big catch to the Bearkat 40 for a 1st down.

Penalty on the next play--holding on a pass play by SHSU to give Montana another first down to the 30.

Johnson with nearly an intentianal grounding but goes uncalled.

Peter Nguyen with a yard loss on 2nd down.

The 3rd & 11 pass goes too high and it will be 4th and 11.

Brody McKnight is on for a 48 yard attempt and is not even close as the kick is into the wind.

SHSU still leads 7 - 0 with 6:11 left in the opening qtr.

SHSU takes over at their own 31.

Flanders takes it all the way on the very first play after the missed FG on the ground--69 yards for the score for the Bearkats.

PAT is good.

Montana returns the kickoff just to the 17.

Make that the 18. Johnson incomplete on the 1st down play.

Montana converts a 3rd & 2 on a run by Dan Moore after he catches a swing pass for 8.

Moore losses 3 on 1st down and Johnson is incomplete on 2nd down.

The 3rd & 13 pass is complete to Bryce Carver. Montana is down to the SHSU 35.

Johnson fumbles the snap on what looks to be a handoff. SHSU recovers at the SHSU 40.

We have 4:12 left in this 1st qtr with SHSU leading 14-0.

Actually SHSU takes over at the SHSU 41.

A fumble by Richard Sincere is recovered by himself and a pass is incomplete to set up a 3rd & 10.

Bell finds Grant Merritt inside the 5 and he works his way into the end zone. PAT is good.

I didn't see this one coming this way. We will see if Montana can come back from this.

Montana's Sambrano is nailed but does get the ball out to their own 30.

Montana gets a little on 1st down but losses it on 2nd down on two runs. It is 3rd & 10 and Johnson hits Sambrano for a big gain to the SHSU 36.
