2012 Division I National Title Game, #2 North Dakota State vs. #1 Sam Houston State

FRISCO, TX--I am in the pressbox getting ready for the game between the Bison and Bearkats. I will have to admit that the pressbox is not quite as nice as the rest of the stadium but it is better than some that I have been to.

The weather right now is cloudy with temperatures in the upper 40s. It is expected to clear off by kickoff.

Like in the my preview, I think turnovers will be the key to game with the winner likely winning this area. Special teams is another area that I really didn't touch in my preview this week and this might also be a key area with the punting and place kicking being a big area as well.

I look forward to this game and will be blogging as we go. I will be providing my opinions and dialog as we go.

I look forward to a great game with a packed house here at FC Dallas Stadium and from the tailgating already happening, it should be a pretty rowdy crowd.

Like I said in my preview, I believe Sam Houston State will win a narrow game but really think this is as close as the statistics show. But we shall see in a couple hours.

    Bell gets the pass to Flanders on 3rd down for three but goes deep and incomplete on 4th down.

    This game just might be over. NDSU will look to their ground game to run the clock out.

    The SHSU fans are starting to hit the exits. They think it is over.

    NDSU gets small gains from McNorton and Ojuri and will face a 3rd & 6.

    Jensen keeps it for just one to set up a 4th and 5 and SHSU uses their 2nd time out.

    We have jsut 2:34 left in the game.

    NDSU's punt goes into the end zone for the touchback. SHSU will take over at their own 20. We have 2:27 left in the game.

    John Pike picks off Bell on the first play. This game is over now. NDSU takes over at the SHSU 48.

    We have jsut 2:22 left.

    NDSU will look just to run out the clock now. This game was just like I though it would be with the two strong defenses.

    The Bison crowd is now out chanting "Let's go Bison".

    The SHSU side line is nearly emptied.

    NDSU doesn't get the first down and wil have to punt again after a delay of game foul with 41 seconds left.

    This game has just 32 seconds left.

    There it is. North Dakota State is our national champions. NDSU wins their first Division I title and ninth overall.

    The final score is 17-6.

    Congratualations to the Bison and the Bearkats on giving us a great game and a great way to end the season.
