#5 Georgia Southern @ #1 North Dakota State, 2012

In just over an hour, the rematch will be seen in the Fargodome. A capacity crowd is again expected inside this facility and likely the sound will be the loudest it has been all season as well.

I expect a much closer game than what was seen last year with a 35-7 NDSU win.

The Eagle offense will be able to move the ball at times in this game, I beleive. The Georgia Southern defense is where I see the question marks.

Ball control will likely be in the minds of both teams and believe NDSU will likely try to run the ball a little more than in the past and not allow quarterback Brock Jensen to beat them with another interception return for a touchdown. But I feel NDSU will have to throw it a little bit to keep the Eagle defense offguard.

Like my preview earlier this week, I feel NDSU will pull this one out but will be close. This game likely will go to the final quarter and it will not be a 28 point win this year for the Bison.

I can't wait for the opening kickoff in this one.

    Huge stop by the Bison defense. Let's see if the NDSU offense can do anything on this drive.

    2nd & 10 from the NDSU 12. Vraa can't handle the pass.

    Brent Russell is hurt for the Eagles. Looks to be an ankle injury.

    3rd & 10 from the NDSU 12. Huge catch by Smith but is marked short. This might be video replayed.

    Based on the video replay, it looks like he was right at the mark to me. I think they will move this up a yard and then might have measure.

    The play is reversed like I thought and will put it as a Bison first down at the NDSU 23.

    1st & 10 at the NDSU 23. Crockett on a sweep and gets just 3.

    2nd & 7 at the NDSU 26. Vraa can't come up with the slant pattern.

    3rd & 7 at the NDSU 26. Vraa catches this one for 10 and a first down.

    2nd & 8 from the NDSU 38. Crockett on the carry and gets 5.

    3rd & 3 from the NDSU 43. Smith with the catch for 7 and a first down.

    1st & 10 from midfield. Long pass attempt to Vraa and he gets held up for a pass interference call. That will move the ball down 15 yards.

    NDSU gets a 12-man on the field penalty to move back 5. Time out NDSU after the play.

    The kickoff goes out of bounds and GSU will get it at their own 35.

    1st & 10 at the GSU 35. McKinnon gets dropped for a loss and the Eagles will let the clock go to the halftime break.

    NDSU is 3 of 6 on 3rd downs, GSU is 4 of 6 and of course the one 4th down conversion

    This is about what I thought this game would be. This is too closely matched squads. NDSU's defense made the big stop on the third Eagle possession but the Eagle held the Bison to just a field goal before the half so both defenses are playing well.
