FRISCO, Texas--I am in the press box at Toyota Stadium and will be blogging throughout the game.
Towson (13-2) comes into the game as the #7 seed in the playoff field but defeated the #2 Eastern Illinois and #3 Eastern Washington both on the road to get to this game. Those two wins combined with a home win over Fordham to open their playoff run.
North Dakota State (14-0) comes as the #1 seed and defeated Furman, Coastal Carolina, and New Hampshire all at home in the Fargodome rather easily in each contest.
NDSU also comes in owning the past two national championships and are looking to equal the feat of three straight championships of Appalachian State, who won three in a row from 2005-2007.
Towson comes from the Colonial Athletic Association and the three wins this year are the programs first three wins at the Division I level tournament and this is the second playoff season in their history.
NDSU comes from the Missouri Valley Football Conference and have made the past four playoffs and own a 13-1 playoff record in their brief history at the Division I level.
I previewed the game earlier this week and believe NDSU will go back to Fargo with that third national championship trophy.
I just got a word from the Towson SID that the Tigers will be without two starters in TE James Oboh and CB Jordan Love. All I know is that they violated NCAA rules and those two will be suspended for the game but I don't have any further details at this time.
