Pat Paschall lead the West in rushing and our boys from the FCS shined in the Shrine again this past Saturday.
The attendance of 8,345 was the lowest in the history of the longest running college all-star game (since 1925). This was the first year it was held in Florida. The East won 13-10.
LOOKING AT THE PLAY BY PLAY
MSU's Clay Harbor caught a couple passes in the 1st quarter. NDSU's RB Pat Paschall got significant rushing yardage in the 2nd quarter in two series. EWU's TE Nathan Overbay also saw action in the 2nd.
EWU's QB Matt Nichols and Fordham's QB John Skelton dueled in the 3rd quarter but no scoring was to be had. Skelton did hit Harbor for an FCS to FCS connection in the 3rd.
Nichols continued a drive in the final stanza before retiring. Paschall and Overbay returned with spectacular plays, Paschall with a 16 yard run and Overbay with a 41 yard reception that lead to the West's final score.
Defensive stats were not available at the time of this blog entry (though UNI's James Ruffin got a sack).
