There were 54 seconds left in the Viking football team's second game of the 2011 season against Northern Arizona University. NAU's kicker was lined up for what would have been his fourth field goal of the game, a 41-yard kick which would have given the visitors a one-point win. Defensive Lineman Myles Wade beat his opponent and got a hand on the ball, sending it wide left and preserving the Viking's 31-29 win. It was a milestone for the 2011 edition of the Vikings and for former Central Catholic standout Wade, playing out his remaining year of eligibility as a graduate student following a post high school football odyssey which saw him play JC ball in Arizona and two years for Texas Tech.
