Progress in hiring diverse coaches in football

Floyd Keith remembers flying to California in 2005 to watch the first Pac-10 football game featuring two black head coaches. It represented half of the Division I total that season [outside of the FCS HBCU programs - of which the FBS has none].
Six years later, the college football landscape has undergone a major shift. A record-breaking offseason of hires has put 28 minority coaches on the Division I sidelines this fall, a progression Keith and the Black Coaches and Administrators lauded in their latest annual hiring report card released Tuesday.
