Five home games including a Thursday night season-opener against Mars Hill and nonconference road trips to Marshall and defending national champion, Alabama, highlight Western Carolina's 2012 schedule unveiled today by first-year head coach Mark Speir. Also headlining the home schedule is the 77th edition of the gridiron grudge match, the "Battle for the Old Mountain Jug," which will be played at E.J. Whitmire Stadium /Bob Waters Field in late October.
