The journey for Sadat Sulleyman from his birth in Accra, Ghana to the Stott Community Field for spring football practice would compare favorably to Greek literature's Odyssey by Homer. In that ancient fable, it took Odysseus 10 years to reach his home of Ithaca after the Trojan War. Sulleyman's travels took even longer, spanning three continents, at least six different households, multiple problems, neglect and abuses before he found the stability and opportunity he now has as a Portland State student and football player.
