The Georgetown University football team begins its 2012 training camp following its best season since joining the Patriot League in 2001. The Hoyas, who had never finished above fifth place in the league, went 8-3 boasting, statistically, one of the nation's best defenses and playing for its first Patriot League Championship at Lehigh. Though instead of celebrating its most wins since 1999, the memory of walking off the field in Bethlehem, Pa. without the coveted Patriot League Championship and berth in the FCS Playoffs has served as fuel for a squad that returns 17 starters and more depth up and down the roster than any team during Kevin Kelly's seven years at the helm of the program.
