Eastern Illinois football was picked to finish eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll released on media day on Monday. Artavious Dowdell and Von Wise were selected to the preaseason All-OVC team. EIU opens the season Thursday, August 30 against Southern Illinois.
