The College Sporting News consolidated all the major preseason polls to determine an overall top 25, and the Lumberjacks are ranked 20th overall. The "in-progress poll" included the College Sporting News, Lindy's, Athlon's, Phil Steele's Magazine, and Sports Network polls to create the ranking, and will add the Coaches Poll when it is released.
