The first weekend at Davidson was an interesting one. Leading up to the game, I talked to the guys about how they would establish a personality for our football team. We had not seen how they would handle and respond to adversity, and we had not seen how they would respond to winning or losing. We didn't expect to be tested so quickly, but lightning delayed the game for over an hour, then we lost our leader and starting quarterback, during the first series of the game. I think we handled everything in a very positive way and it showed us the strong character of this year's team very quickly.
