Great West: North Dakota, Cal Poly and Southern Utah Athletes Named Football Players of the Week

Three different institutions claimed the GWC Players of the Week in the third week of the 2011 football season after outstanding performances by all five GWC teams.Despite a 27-22 loss to FBS team Fresno State, North Dakota's Jake Miller was named GWC Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 145 yards and three touchdowns off the bench Saturday night. Cal Poly's Asa Jackson, a Buck Buchanan Award candidate, received Defensive Player of the Week honors after returning an interception 100 yards for a touchdown in the Mustangs' 48-14 victory over South Dakota State. The Special Teams Player of the Week award went to Southern Utah return specialist Brady Measom who averaged 34.3 yards per punt return in the Thunderbirds' 45-22 win over Texas-San Antonio.
