For Wildcats, waiting is the hardest part

DURHAM — The good feeling will soon give way to painstaking preparation, if it hasn’t already.
But on Tuesday, deep in the bowels of the Field House, and two days after learning they’d earned a Division I playoff berth and first-round bye, members of the University of New Hampshire football team were quite content with the postseason lot they’d drawn.
“It’s definitely big,” said senior wide receiver Terrance Fox. “You never want your season to be over.”
It might require equipment from the science lab to measure which team was more excited about its scenario — 11th-ranked UNH (7-4) or its opponent, 13th-ranked Bethune-Cookman, which will host the Round of 16 game on Dec. 4 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
